EU and the International Labor Organization (ILO) today in Sarajevo allocated three million euros of grants for 15 local projects intended for employment within the public call “Support to Local Partnerships for Employment in BiH” funded by the EU and implemented by the ILO.

Among the 157 applications, a project application developed by the Association GEA in cooperation with the municipality of Petrovac was selected along with 14 other projects in various activities that will receive support ranging from 150,000 to 200,000 euros, and whose goal is retraining the unemployed, job creation and support to local economic development.

 
The project “With Flax Production to Sustainable Jobs in Agriculture” is focused on securing jobs in the agricultural sector in the municipalities of Petrovac, Bosanski Petrovac, Istocni Drvar, Drvar, Kljuc and Ribnik especially for the most vulnerable such as displaced persons, returnees, women, youth and people affected by the floods.

Activities of the local partners should last until December 2018.
