Economic and social effects of the pandemic in B&H

GEA – Centre for Research and Studies took part in the international research about consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Western Balkans. This comprehensive research has been organized by the Aspen Institute Germany in partnership with several think tank organizations and experts from Germany and the Western Balkan region.

Health Care Systems in BiH – Financing Challenges and Reform Options

In 2014, the private household health care spending of a family with three members averaged 50 KM monthly, which may pose a serious burden for the families living below or near poverty line. It indicates a certain degree of inequality in access to health care services among the citizens of BiH.

GEA participated at Civil Society Forum in Trieste

Association GEA from Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) has been selected to participate at Civil Society Forum Trieste, the 4thintergovernmental Summit of Western Balkans and EU countries that brought together representatives of civil society organisations with the objective of providing a platform for their impact on the so-called Berlin Process.

Approved project “With Flax Production to Sustainable Jobs in Agriculture”

EU and the International Labor Organization (ILO) today in Sarajevo allocated three million euros of grants for 15 local projects intended for employment within the public call “Support to Local Partnerships for Employment in BiH” funded by the EU and implemented by the ILO.

What is the attitude of Banja Luka mayor runners towards new city budget policy?

During July and August, right before the beginning of local elections campaign, GEA organized consultations with Banja Luka mayor runners. The consultations were aimed at opening a dialogue about necessary changes in the City budget policy in the upcoming period and at directing candidates’ campaign to real problems in the functioning of city administration.
