On September 5 2013, in the municipality of Drinic (BA), village Bara, “Lunch in a buckwheat field” was held in order to present a successful business enterprise realized with the support of the project “Student Entrepreneurship”.
This event was an opportunity for Mr. Petar Radulovic, one of the winners of the 2012 student competition for the best business plan that was organized under the afore mentioned project “Student Entrepreneurship”, to present his awarded business plan of buckwheat cultivation and processing. In his address, Mr. Radulovic also familiarized participants with the foundation of the Center for Rural Development, initiated by a group of young people from Drinic. Its main goal will be to support the overall development of rural areas and to encourage organic manufacture.
Attendees were also addressed by GEA’s Executive Director, Mr. Marko Martic, as well as the Prefect of the Municipality of Drinic, Mr. Drago Kovacevic. In their speeches they emphasized the significance of encouraging young people to venture into entrepreneurship and increasing business awareness in rural areas.
The event was attended by representatives of entity governments, international organizations, Municipality Prefects of Drinic and Bosanski Petrovac, representatives of universities from Banja Luka, Mostar and Sarajevo, as well as representatives of Hypo-Alpe-Adria Bank, ASA Group and M:tel company, as sponsors of the project.
The “Student Entrepreneurship” project is being implemented by GEA – Center for Research and Studies, and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
